Leo G. Beckmann, Jr.

Leo G. Beckmann, Jr. graduated from Armstrong State College and Mercer University School of Law, where he was a member of the editorial staff of the law review. He is admitted to all State Courts, the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Georgia, and the Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals. He is a Special Assistant Attorney General for the Department of Human Resources of the State of Georgia. He practices primarily in the areas of corporate law, civil litigation, construction law, contracts and real estate.

Mr. Beckmann is a member of the State Bar of Georgia and the Savannah Bar Association. He is past president, or chairman, of the Y.M.C.A. of Coastal Georgia, Saint Andrews School, Atlantic Coast Conservation Association, and several other charitable and non-profit organizations in Savannah and Southeast Georgia. 

 

J. Stephen Lewis

J. Stephen Lewis graduated from Emory University(BBA) and the University of Georgia School of Law.  He is admitted to all State Courts and the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Georgia, as well as the Eleventh Circuit Court of appeals. He practices primarily in the areas of civil litigation, commercial and residential real estate, construction contracts and litigation, including liens and contractor defenses and liability, probate and probate litigation, wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and collaborative divorce.     

Mr. Lewis was in private practice from 1970-1978, in-house counsel to Union Camp Corporation from 1978-1980, and helped form the present firm in 1980. Mr. Lewis is a member of the State Bar of Georgia, the American Bar Association, and the Savannah Bar Association.  He is a past president of the Savannah Estate Planning Council, the Rotary Club of Savannah South, and the Coastal Empire Council, Inc., Boy Scouts of America. Mr. Lewis is a member and advisor to several charitable and non-profit organizations in the Savannah and southeast Georgia area.   


Wendy M. Furey

Wendy M. Furey grew up in Savannah where she attended Savannah Country Day School.  She received her Bachelor of Science from Duke University and her J.D. from the University of Georgia.  During law school she participated in the Prosecutorial Clinic and the Barton Child Law and Policy Clinic.  Ms. Furey focuses her practice in the area of deprivation law.  Prior to her legal career she worked in the non-profit sector for organizations including Court Appointed Special Advocates and AmeriCorps. She is an active member of the Junior League of Savannah.

 

George P. Milmine, II

George P. Milmine, II practices in the areas of civil litigation, construction law, corporate and transactional law, estate law, and environmental law. He is a native of Savannah. Mr. Milmine attended Washington and Lee University in Lexington, Virginia, where he earned a B.A. in English Literature in 2002.

After college, Mr. Milmine enrolled in Mercer University’s Walter F. George School of Law. Upon receiving his J.D. and joining the Bar in 2007, he returned home to Savannah and began his employment at Beckmann & Lewis, LLP. He has been admitted to practice in the Georgia Supreme Court, the Georgia Courts of Appeals, all State Courts, and the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Georgia. He is a member of the State Bar of Georgia, the Savannah Bar Association, and the Nature Conservancy in Georgia. He serves on the Board of Trustees of Royce Learning Center and the Chatham Academy.
